PREGNANCY & PEDIATRIC CARE

PREGNANCY

Relief of pregnancy related muscle and joint pain

One of the most important times for a woman to be receiving chiropractic care is during pregnancy! From the moment of conception her body goes through a series of remarkable changes. Some are easy to spot: a growing belly, changes in posture and the changes in gait - that characteristic pregnancy "waddle." What we cannot see are the millions of different hormonal changes and chemical reactions occurring in both the mother and the developing baby.

As pregnancy progresses, things can get uncomfortable. Chiropractic care helps reduce that discomfort. In turn, expectant mothers benefit from better sleep, easier, shorter labours, less instances of breach birth, back labour and c-section deliveries.

PEDIATRICS

Its better to grow healthy children than to fix broken adults

The first thing a chiropractor will do is conduct a thorough history of your child's health and any complaints. This is followed by a complete physical examination of the child's spine. Most chiropractors are trained to evaluate pediatric spinal problems, and will use gentle, specific skills to find and adjust any involved spinal areas.

We offer specific, gentle adjustments appropriate to the infant and child's spine and cranium.

Spinal adjustments for infants and young children involve very light fingertip pressure to correct spinal misalignments. This amount of "force" is often not more than a finger touch. This is usually sufficient to restore mobility to spinal joints.

Parents often seek chiropractic care for their children to help with the discomfort, symptoms, and side effects of the following issues:

  • Trouble breastfeeding (latching)

  • Torticollis

  • Headaches

  • Scoliosis

  • Injury
